DescriptionThe photograph shows the 100 block of South Adams Street in Peoria, Illinois looking south from Main Street. There are multi-story commercial buildings on either side of the street. The large white building on the left side of the picture has a sign which reads: S & B. This is the Shipper and Block store which later become Block and Kuhls and then Carson Pirie Scott. Street car tracks run down the middle of the brick street and a streetcar can be seen in the distance. There are many pedestrians on the sidewalks and a few crossing the street. Utility poles are on either side of the street.
