DescriptionThe slide reads: "Murray Baker Bridge 1980/38/41." The photograph shows the Murray Baker Bridge spanning the Illinois River at Peoria, IL. The large structure in the lower left corner of the photograph is the parking deck for the Caterpillar Inc. World Headquarters. The road continuing from the bridge is Interstate 74. Several automobiles are seen in the parking lot along the river. A paddle wheel excursion boat is visible beside two other boats docked on the Peoria side of the Illinois River. The bridge is named for Murray M. Baker, the man responsible for bringing Caterpillar to Peoria in the early twentieth century.
