DescriptionThe slide reads: 1980/38/55. The photograph shows an air view of downtown Peoria, Illinois looking toward the Illinois River. The sign above the building at the right of the photograph marks the location of Commercial National Bank (now National City Bank). The building toward the left is Bergner's Department Store (now Robert Morris College). The sign on the bulding four buildings to the right of Bergner's reads Byerly Music. The building next to it was Montgomery Wards (now Remax). The white building is the former Peoria Dry Goods Store (now Illinois Mutual Insurance). There are various towers and smokestacks shown. Portions of the Illinois River are visible as well as a bridge spanning the river. In the distance is the city of East Peoria.
