DescriptionThe slide reads: 300 block Main, court house. The photograph shows the commercial buildings in the 300 block of Main Street across from the Peoria County Courthouse. Signs on the fronts of several stores identify them as Kay Jewelers, Kay-Bee, Jacquins and Welander's Shoes. The ten story building at the left of the picture currently houses South Side Trust and Savings Bank and numerous offices. There are several automobiles parked along the street. In front of Kay Jewelers is a clock mounted on a post as well as one of several street lights visible in the picture. Several limbs of a tree on the courthouse side of the street are barely visible on the left edge of the photograph. A building in the left half of the picture housed the Apollo Theatre.
