DescriptionInventor Charles Sester is pictured in Glen Oak Park with his wife Magdalena in 1918. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1888 from the Alsace region of France. He owned and operated Sester Implement Co. in East Peoria. Among his inventions was the Oat Seeder. He sold his company's land and building to Caterpillar and the equipment and patent rights for the Oat Seeder to John Deere. Charles later founded the First National Bank of East Peoria.
