DescriptionA familiar sight on the Illinois River at South Rome was this beached houseboat owned by the A. J. Hensler family in the early 1900s. The houseboat became the political headquarters of the Edward N. Woodruff Republican groups for many years while Woodruff, as mayor, dominated the Peoria political scene. (Duplicate B167-1092)
