Description |
A recording entitled "Footnotes to Irish History" about historic Irish people during the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, told by Southern Illinois University visiting lecturer Eoin O'Mahony. O'Mahony specialized in Irish culture, genealogy, history, politics, and literature. In the "Footnotes" recordings, O'Mahony and an unidentified man comment on notable authors, poets, artists, Catholics and Protestants, and politicians in Irish (and British) history. In part 11 the many individuals discussed include, among others: George Moore, T. C. Murray, Kate O'Brien, Sir Charles Gavan Duffy, Edmund Downey, Sophie O'Brien (Raffalovich), William O'Brien, André Raffalovich, and Dermot O'Byrne (Arnold Bax). |
