This year's Commencement, the 18th Annual, was held on Sunday, May 25, in John F. Kennedy Memorial Gymnasium. The event this year, with the largest graduating class in history, reflects the continuing growth of Lewis. Brother Maurice Anglim, F.S.C, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Brother Paul French, F.S.C, President, and Dr. Joseph M. McFadden, Dean, presented 258 BA degrees and 44 BS degrees to the class of seniors. Earlier in the week, the President had presented certificates of completion to eight men ending the one-year aviation maintenance curriculum. Robert A. Hartmann received the Academic Excellence Award for maintaining the highest scholastic average in the class of 1969. For four years at Lewis, his average was 3.90 out of a possible 4.0. Gregory R. Ginex, political science student, was presented with the Student Achievement Award and the Father Aquinas Award. It is the first time these two awards for outstanding contributions to the college community have gone to one senior. (Cont. on Pg. 2, Col. 1)
