Dear Brother James:
Ifm extremely pleased that Lewis University will honor Billie Limacher
with the 1989 St. Genesius Award at Arts Gala f89 on March 11. As the
first winner of this outstanding honor, I'm proud to be in the same
company with this wonderful individual.
I have watched the Bicentennial Park grow into a tremendous community
asset under Billie!s outstanding and extremely dedicated volunteer
leadership. I!ve been a member of the park's board of directors for
many years.
Billie has spent thousands of hours guiding this cultural center's
growing activities. It truly is the PEOPLE'S PARK. While the park's
daily operations are capably run by Georgiann Goodson, Billie provides
the inspiring volunteer leadership. She never stops striving for
improvement--new programming and events to enrich area residents.
All of us involved are proud of the Bicentennial Park. It offers so
much to so many at an extremely low operational cost factor. The park
facilities are affordable and accessible to all segments of our
community.
Billie is a shining symbol of what one person can do. She continually
motivates all of us to stay involved and committed to the park. No one
has worked harder or given more of themselves to a community project
than Billie Limacher.
My deepest appreciation for honoring Billie. She deserves it. I will
look forward to this evening. Both the Bicentennial Park and
Caterpillar will be reserving tables. I truly love and respect Billie.
The greatest compliment I can pay her is she is a close friend. And, I
will always treasure her friendship.
Sincerely yours^ *
