Eckley taught at Bradley University the summer of 1946, and received a master's degree and doctorate in economics from Eckley's next post, 1951-54, was as industrial economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. HE JOINED Caterpillar Trac-tor Co. in Peoria in 1954, and came to Wesleyan after thirteen years as manager of the Busi-ness Economics Department. Eckley served on the Bradley National Alumni Association Board from 1960-63, and on Peoria Mayor's Commission on Human Relations from 1962- 63. HE SERVED A two-year per-iod as vice-president of Peoria The new president was the recipient of a 1966 Phi Kappa Phi Alumnus Award from Brad-ley University. He is the author of several articles and publications on eco-nomics, and is a member of the American Economic Associa-tion, National Association of Business Economists and Amer-ican Statistical Association. Dr. Eckley is married to the former Nell B. Mann of Hous-ton, Texas. They have four children-Rebecca, 11; Paul, 14; Jane Ann, 16; and tRobert, 17. I be formally invested with the office of the presidency by Paul Allison, president of the Board of Trustees. He will be as-sisted by former IWU President Dr. Lloyd M. Bertholf. PRESIDENT ECKLEY will then deliver his response. His topic title, 'taken from the Book of Psalms, will be "That We May Apply Our Hearts Unto Wisdom." After "Alma Wesleyana" is sung, Dr. James Kerr White, district superintendent of the United Methodist Church, will de-liver the benediction. The ceremonies will come to a close with the recessional march, "Holdigungs-marsch" by Edward Grieg. Inauguration day festivities will close with a reception for the Eckleys in the library immediately after the ceremonies. Registration for official delegates will open at 9:30 a.m. in the television room of Memorial Center and last throughout the morning. C. Virgil Martin, president of Carson, Pirie, Scott & Co. and a member of the IWU Board of Trustees, will preside over the luncheon, which begins at 11:30 a.m. "THE ARTS ON THE Campus-Avant, Avante Garde, Gotterdammerung" will be the topic of the luncheon address by Ro-bert Hargreaves, former IWU faculty member and president of the National Association of Schools of Music. Inauguration ceremonies will begin at 2:30 p.m. in Fred Young Fieldhouse. MACE BEARER Everette Walker, dean of the university, will lead the procession-al into the Fieldhouse following the sum-mons of the University Orchestra's "Fan-fare for an Inaugural." The special fanfare was written by Dr. Bedford Watkins of the music school in honor of Dr. Eckley. Richard Hishman will direct the orchestra. FOLLOWING THE "National Anthem," Bishop Lance Webb of the United Metho-dist Church will deliver the ceremonial invocation. A choral response will follow by the IWU Collegiate Choir, under the direction of Robert Donalson. Edward Dirks, Alumni Association pres-ident; Mark Sheldon, Student Senate president; and Dr. Carl Neumeyer, facul-ty chairman of inauguration, will present salutations to 'the assemblage. Collegiate Choir will then sing the anthem, "Let God Arise," by George F. Handel. WILLIAM BLACKIE, chairman of the Board of Directors of Caterpillar Tractor Co., will give the inaugural address.
