Dance Cards Collection at Monmouth College consists of small, intricate booklets that were used to keep track of whom the owner was sharing dances with at various school functions. In most cases the dance cards were worn by women, with a small piece of ribbon or rope attached to the wrist. Although each dance card is different, they contain lines for names of the person danced with as well as each song listed in order. The dance cards contain various personal letters and notes that add touches of personality and interest. Many of the dance cards are decorated to correspond with a dance's theme. Dance cards were prominent at MC dances the early 1930’s up until the mid 1960’s.
