Flemming address the 1956 graduating class. Dr. Flem-ming is director of the U. S. Of-fice of Defense Mobilization. His subject was "Our Common Respon-sibility." In his address he stressed the fact that we are buying time by mobilization, until such time as spiritual forces can break through and bring peace. He spoke particularly of the "atoms for peace" plan and the "aid to educa-tion" plans as forces that will help prevent war. The nations and com-munities can save themselves through service, and mutual assist-ance is not a "giveaway," but is for the good of all and is to demon-strate the belief of this nation in spiritual values. The affiliation between Brokaw Hospital and Wesleyan has changed and the new school will be a part of the University just as fine arts are a part of it. Under the new plan, all fresh-men in the School of Nursing will take full time college work at Wes-leyan but live at Brokaw Hospital. The second and third years will be spent in the hospital for clinical training, and the fourth year will be on the campus. At the end of four years the students will re-ceive bachelor of science degrees. This means that all nurses at Bro-kaw must take the fourth year in order to complete their work. In the past Brokaw nurses could come to Wesleyan for a fourth year for a degree if they wished. Now this is compulsory, and will greatly strengthen the program. 1916 Baseball Team Holds Reunion Members of Wesleyan's 1916 base-ball team held a reunion on Alum-ni Day. The nine living members of the team attended the IWU-Cha-nute Field baseball game in the stadium, and in the evening at-tended the annual alumni dinner with their wives. A special table was reserved for them. Fred Young, who played with the team the year before, Ned Dolan, and Jack Horen-berger, IWU baseball coach, were invited to sit with them. Wesleyan has won eleven state baseball championships, including the one this year. The 1916 team, however, is the only team with a perfect record since baseball was recog-nized as an organized sport in 1885. During the dinner Howard Millard '17 presented the members of the team. Mr. Millard, sports editor of the Decatur Herald-Review, was in large measure responsible for the event.
